October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A container will be in the lobby for donations which will be sent to "Stand Up to Cancer" at the end of the month.

Wednesday, October 3rd at 11:30am

Join Colleen Imbert, a representative from UnitedHealthcare for a presentation on Medicare Advantage and Part D coverage choices. Light refreshments will be served and reservations are required.

Monday , October 8th Atlantic City Trip

Casino lovers will travel to Trump Plaza in Atlantic City for our October Trip. Cost is $30. The monthly trips fill up quick so sign up early. Bus leaves from the Kip Center at 8am. and returns at 6:30p.m. You will receive $30 in slot money and $5 meal voucher.

Thursday, Oct.11th at 11:00am Food for Thought

More than 60 million Americans experience acid reflux at least once a month. Also known as GERD symptoms that most often occur after eating a heavy meal, when bending over or lifting an object, and when lying down especially on your back. Melissa Mack, from Prospect Heights Care Center in Hackensack will discuss certain foods that can make symptoms of acid reflux worse.

The Bergen County Coalition provides housing assistance to senior tenants and offers education to groups on housing issues related to landlord tenant conflicts.

Thursday, Octover 25th at 2pm

Lillian Negron, Senior OT Specialist at HUMC will facilitate a lecture and demonstration on the advantages of exercise to help treat arthritis. Light refreshments will be served and reservations are required (immediately following the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class)

Saturday - October 13th Octoberfest Celebration;

Traditional German Sauerbraten dinner followed by entertainment by Eric Kressen, Accordionist.

Saturday, October 20th at 10:30am - Let's Talk

One of the ways to celebrate Halloween is by dressing up in a costume. It might have been a movie star, animal or ghost! Let's talk about who or what you were and bring any pictures you can find and we will display them throughout the center. 1:00-Bingo

Saturday-October 27th Halloween Party

Students from Rutherford High School Interact Club will once again join us at our Halloween party. The fun begins at 10:15am with "Batty Bingo" followed by a ghoulish lunch at noon. At 1:00pm the students will join us for our very own monster mash with live entertainment. Wear your costume to win prizes for most crative, beautiful and scary!

Saturday, September 22nd Fall Prevention Awareness Day

At 10am Christopher Ford, PT from Raising the Bar Rehabilitation and Fitness will explain some of the ways to prevent falls. Followed by Bill Moore, our Tai Chi chih instructor, who will explain the importance of balance and Tai chi chih can be important tool in fall prevention. At 1pm join us for Fall Trivia and Treats.
